Obesity affects one in 10 adults around the world

One in 10 adults in the world is obese according to a study published in The Lancet
In the UK, men have the sixth highest BMI (body mass index) in Europe. UK women have the ninth highest BMI in Europe.
Obesity is a risk factor for heart disease and diabetes.
What is BMI - Body Mass Index?
BMI is measured by taking a person's weight in kg and dividing by the square of their height in metres.
A BMI of 18.5 to 25 is considered healthy, over 25 is deemed overweight and greater than 30 is obese.
